Pushto stage actor Khushboo Khan found dead in crop fields

The body of Khushboo Khan, a prominent Pushto drama and stage artist, was discovered in crop fields within the Wapda Colony area of Nowshera District. Police reported on Monday that she had been fatally shot by two men.

As per local media outlets, the Akbarpura police have registered a murder case against the two suspects, Shaukat, son of Gul Muhammad, and Falak Niaz, son of Dilbar. The complainant, Khushboo’s brother, has identified them in the case.

Authorities have launched a search operation to apprehend the suspects. According to police records, one of the suspects had previously been charged with the murder of another woman from the acting industry.

The First Information Report (FIR) reveals that Khushboo’s brother accused the suspects of killing her due to her refusal to comply with their demands. They had allegedly insisted that she work exclusively for events organised by them and leave the industry altogether. When she declined, the suspects reportedly lured her to a party at their residence, where they allegedly murdered her.

Akhbarpura Station House Officer (SHO) Niaz Muhammad Khan indicated that the police suspect Khushboo was brought to the event attended by both suspects and then murdered elsewhere. Her body was subsequently dumped in the fields. Preliminary police findings suggest that the suspects may have used their residences to commit such crimes.

Nowshera District Police Officer (DPO) Azhar stated that evidence had been collected and an investigation is underway. The police have handed over Khushboo’s body to her family following a post-mortem examination. DPO Azhar further noted that modern investigative techniques, including geo-fencing, will be employed to trace the suspects.
