Karwa Chauth 2024: Special Rituals For Husband’s Long Life And Success

Karwa Chauth is one of the important Hindu festivals celebrated by married women in India and globally. This year, the fast will be observed on October 20th. The women observe this fast in observance of the husband’s long life and good health. Ayodhya astrologer Pandit Kalki Ram told some solutions to the Local 18 Uttar Pradesh that will make the Karwa Chauth fast more fruitful for the husbands. It will also ensure their progress in life. According to the astrologer, the women should worship only after offering five turmeric roots to Lord Ganesha. The astrologer said that they should also simultaneously recite the mantra ऊं श्री गणधिपतये नम: (Om Shri Gandhipataye Namah). According to Pandit Kalki Ram, the devotees get relief from financial problems and receive benefits on the economic front as well.

The astrologer has also talked about the solutions to remove troubles from marital life as well. On Karwa Chauth, the devotees should offer 21 jaggery tablets and Durva Grass (Scutch Grass) to the Lord Ganesha. Pandit Kalki Ram said that this step will remove all the problems from married life. In addition to this, on Karva Chauth, the believers should visit any Lord Shiva temple and worship Mahadeva as per the rituals. The astrologer said that doing so brings happiness and prosperity in life. According to him, on Karva Chauth, if there is any rift between husband and wife, then they should feed bananas to the cow. The astrologer also advises offering Besan ladoo to Lord Ganesha’s idol to end the fights between the couple.

The festival has ties to many folk tales, most importantly the story of the devoted queen Veeravati. Following her wedding, Queen Veeravati observed her first Karwa Chauth and fainted from starvation. She opened her fast early after her brothers deceived her into believing that the moon had risen. She found out about her husband’s death shortly after. She prayed to Goddess Parvati in her grief and received her wish to fast fervently. Her husband’s life was saved by her faith, showing the strength of devotion and love. The Moonrise on Karwa Chauth is expected to be at 7:54 PM.
